Civil Aerospace

Dependable manufacturing for civil aerospace

Predictable programme performance

We support civil aerospace programmes with complex engine components, aerofoil hardware and integrated manufacturing support from early development through to mature production and spares supply.

Civil aerospace programmes depend on consistent quality, full traceability and dependable delivery.

RLC combines specialist engine component manufacture with machining, treatments, inspection, testing and programme support through one connected manufacturing group.

This gives customers such as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and MTU a more controlled route from early manufacturing input through to serial production, spares supply and long-term sustainment.

Specialist civil aerospace capabilities

  • Engine components

RLC manufactures complex propulsion hardware for the world’s largest civil aerospace programmes. RLC’s integrated manufacturing model combines machining, processing, treatments, inspection and programme support to help protect quality, delivery and long-term supply.

  • Blisks / IBRs

RLC produces high-complexity titanium blisks and integrally bladed rotors for modern engine architectures. These components require tightly controlled aerofoil geometry, advanced multi-axis machining, special chemical processes and treatments as well as extremely precise dimensional verification.

  • Fan blades

RLC supports major civil propulsion programmes with precision titanium fan blade components. Capability includes wide chord fan blades and solid fan blades, as well as the controlled machining, processing and inspection routes these parts require.

  • Guide vanes

RLC manufactures complex aluminium and titanium guide vane components for airflow control and structural performance within engine systems. Each component requires accurate aerofoil profiling, consistent surface finishing and repeatable machining control. RLC also provides the associated treatment, painting and complex assembly solutions required.

  • Annulus fillers

RLC supplies annulus filler components as integrated, engine-ready kits. This combines machining, surface processing, seal application, assembly and supply-chain coordination through one controlled route.

  • Complex CNC milling

RLC provides a combination of repeatable production and controlled variation — including components with complex, multi-operation routings and tiered processing requirements.

  • Actuation

RLC supports secondary flight control and high-lift transmission systems through precise components manufacture, specialised surface treatment and functional testing.

  • Programme support

RLC supports civil aerospace programmes from early manufacturing input and prototype qualification through serial production and aftermarket supply. Its programme-led approach also supports mature variants, obsolescence management and long-term fleet sustainment.

Product lifecycle support

Civil aerospace programmes can run for decades. Requirements change, demand shifts and established parts still need dependable support.

RLC supports customers from early manufacturing input and qualification through production ramp-up, serial supply, mature programme management, spares support and legacy sustainment. This helps protect technical knowledge, manage change and maintain continuity across the life of a programme.

Where we add value

We support customers where component complexity, supply pressure or programme risk requires more than standard manufacturing capacity.

  • Development

We provide early ‘design for manufacture’ input to help shape practical process routes, tooling and inspection plans before production begins. This helps customers identify potential production risks early, improve manufacturability and prepare components for qualification and future volume demand.

  • Volume ramp

We support low-rate initial production, process validation and programme readiness as demand increases. Our teams help customers move from approved prototypes and qualification hardware into repeatable production with clear process control and supply visibility.

  • Serial supply

We deliver controlled, repeatable manufacture supported by traceability, inspection and defined supply-chain management. This gives programme teams confidence that components can be supplied consistently as production rates increase or customer demand changes.

  • Mature programmes

We help maintain stable supply, manage programme changes and protect quality across established production requirements. This includes maintaining process knowledge, managing revisions and supporting long-running platforms where continuity matters.

  • Aftermarket

We support spares, repairs, obsolescence management and legacy fleet sustainment for long-running civil aerospace programmes. This helps customers protect availability, retain technical knowledge and maintain support for components that remain operational long after initial production ends.

Industry approvals

RLC’s approvals reflect the standards required to support demanding civil aerospace and defence programmes.

They give customers confidence that sensitive and safety-critical work is managed through controlled processes, recognised quality systems and documented routes across machining, treatments, testing, assembly and specialist manufacturing.
